01

A cup

A small pleasure is still a whole pleasure. It does not become more valid when photographed or explained. Think of the drink you make when nobody is watching: the familiar amount, the spoon you prefer, the part you taste before stirring. There is information in what you enjoy without an audience. Keep some of it for yourself.

A pleasure I do not need to justify: __.

02

A window

The window does not ask the rain to be useful. It lets the weather arrive. A room can offer the same generosity: somewhere to look without measuring progress. You might notice one bright leaf against the glass, or the neighbor carrying groceries through the drizzle. Attention can wander and still bring something home.

One thing I noticed outside: __.

03

A friend

Some friends know which sentence is a joke and which one needs a reply. Their familiarity is made of small things remembered over time. You do not need a dramatic occasion to tend it. Send the song. Ask the real question. Admit that you lost the thread. A friendship can hold an imperfect conversation.

Someone I would like to hear laugh: __.

04

A little courage

Courage can sound like a plain sentence: This is what I need. This is what I can offer. This is where I have to stop. You do not have to make the sentence harsher to make it clear. Write the version you would actually say, then remove the paragraph that apologizes for saying it.

The sentence I mean: __.

05

A room

You can make something beautiful without making everything beautiful. A corner can hold the color you love while the rest of the room waits. A secondhand lamp can be enough of a change for one season. Let the room collect evidence of your life, including the parts that do not belong in a matching set.

One object that makes this room feel like mine: __.

06

Tomorrow

Leave a little room in the morning for being a person. There will be messages and errands and work that matters. There can also be a few minutes that belong to you before you explain yourself to the day. Put something useful within reach tonight. A small kindness is easier to accept when it is already waiting.

A kindness I can leave for myself: __.
