SEPTEMBER 15, 2026 · FROM OYAJAVA

Coffee first. The rest can wait a minute.

A little kitchen rhythm: scoop, stir, pour. Today’s coffee comes with a mint-green pitcher and a tortoiseshell cup.

Some mornings, the best part is the last pour. That little ribbon of cream, the cup finally in your hand, the first quiet moment before you go.

This is a short glimpse from my kitchen, with the waiting trimmed away and the everyday sounds left in. Nothing elaborate. Just making something good for myself.

Make your usual coffee, add the milk or cream you enjoy, and give yourself time to taste it. Sweeten a little at a time. Your cup does not have to taste like anyone else’s.
